|Global Warrior: Averting WWIII|
US Loss of Super Power Status Gives Way to a Wave of Threats
Global Warrior Averting WWIII
H. John Poole
Global Warrior is divided into three parts. Part one focuses on world hotspots and issues. Part two addresses how to approach developing problems/hotspots. Part three goes into infantry tactics that will be of value in these environments should military operations are prosecuted.
The first part of Global Warrior starts off strong by addressing three major threats the United States faces today; Islamist, communist/socialist and criminal. The author continues by stating how these three threats can potentially/and do infiltrate and subvert the United States homeland. This is significant because one of the greatest challenges the United States has is its inability to identify nascent efforts to that can subvert US interests immediately, or over a period of time. While many may find this perspective unusual or impossible, it should not be discounted because of the ways and means John describes in Global Warrior. While this book addresses many issues of interest, this chapter is the most important because the author highlights some strategic surprises on the US horizon like the US has never experienced. Remember, the US missed Pearl Harbor; it essentially missed The Cuban Missile Crisis; it missed 9/11 and it is missing the threat posed by the Mexican Drug Cartels...we have a hydra of pending threats on the horizon.
The second part of Global Warrior is essentially a continuation of part one and that a goes deeper into how one of the major threats, communist nations like China, are slowly gaining ground and expanding its interests worldwide.
Part three of Global Warrior then moves on to the interrelationships between criminal organizations as well as state actors, and have each of those players benefit off of one another to achieve their own interests at the expense of the United States.
This is probably Mr Poole's most important book because he is literally highlighting major national security concerns that are developing at a time when US national power as the world's superpower is diminishing.
